Davante Adams has always been a handful, and since bursting into the NFL scene in 2014, he has been a problem for cornerbacks. Adams is a perennial All-Pro selection, and his chemistry with Aaron Rodgers was the stuff of legends. However, Adams decided to switch teams up in year nine, joining his Fresno State University mate, Derek Carr, on the Las Vegas Raiders.

Adams and Carr were best friends in their Fresno State University days, and their relationship goes way past football. As such, heading into this ninth NFL season, Las Vegas Raiders were hoping for a great year culminating in Super Bowl contention. Unfortunately, the reverse has been the case, with the Raiders being outside the playoff picture and management seemingly giving up on Carr.

This has put Adams in a weird spot, as even though he remains a premier wide receiver in the NFL, his future with the Raiders is looking pretty shaky. So heading into Week 17 of the season, Adams will be catching passes from career backup QB Jarrett Stidham. Fantasy managers with Adams on their rosters will hope the QB change won't adversely affect his performance.

Davante Adams' Fantasy outlook

Davante Adams is a unit. Built by the Fresno State University alum to terrorize NFL defenders. He did it in Fresno State, he did it in Green Bay, and he is doing the same in Sin City. Adams is currently ranked as the third-highest fantasy point scorer heading into Week 17.

Adams snagged two of nine targets for 15 yards in the Las Vegas Raiders' week 16 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Eve.

He led the team in targets but could make two catches in the disappointing loss. Fantasy managers hope he has a more productive night against the defensively resolute San Francisco 49ers.

How is Davante Adams performing this season?

Davante Adams is putting up a typically solid season in the 2022 NFL season. He is showing the world that he doesn't need Aaron Rodgers or the Green Bay Packers to put up insane numbers. He has been one of the few bright spots on the Las Vegas Raiders' offense and has been rewarded with yet another Pro Bowl selection.

This year, he is padding the stat sheet and showing that he remains that guy. Adams has a stat line of 88 receptions, 1,290 receiving yards, and 12 touchdowns in 15 games this season.
