Things haven't gotten any easier for Russell Wilson over the past few weeks. The former Seattle Seahawks star has endured a nightmare run thus far in Denver, ever since being traded.
The Broncos shipped out a bunch of players and a boatload of draft picks in the hopes of picking up a franchise QB. But things haven't quite gone to plan. So far with the Broncos, Wilson has only been able to register eight touchdowns across 10 starts.
To make matters worse, he's thrown five interceptions in that span. Rumors have also started to do rounds that the locker room has lost faith in the nine-time Pro Bowler. NFL fans were quick to point out that it might not just be the Broncos locker room who have lost all hope in the QB.
The Broncos face the Baltimore Ravens this week. This is a clash that was envisioned to be a showdown between two of the league's elite quarterbacks in Wilson and Ravens star Lamar Jackson. The Broncos, though, chose to lead with linebacker Alex Singleton for their promo pics to hype up fans for the clash.
It's safe to say that NFL fans weren't going to give up this opportunity to troll the Broncos star:
Broncos provide explanation for leaving out Russell Wilson from promo pic for Ravens clash
NFL fans have had a field day trolling Russell Wilson. The fact of the matter, however, is that the Broncos PR team had no intentions of trolling their own superstar.
Including their starting QB for the poster alongside Jackson would've likely generated more hype. However, the Broncos' Twitter admin sent out a tweet stating the team picks a different player each game week to feature on their game day poster.
Linebacker Alex Singleton was the player chosen for their week as he will likely play a pivotal role in the team's efforts to stop Jackson. One fan pointed out that the team did the same for their game last week against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Regardless of this debacle, pressure will be on Russell Wilson to get the Broncos back to winning ways fast. After all, people are bound to point fingers at a top earning QB if he can't win games.
