Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay hired a new offensive coordinator and fans had very interesting reactions to the move.

On Friday, the Los Angeles Rams announced that they hired Mike LaFleur as their new offensive coordinator. LaFleur had been with the New York Jets the last two seasons. After the 2022 NFL season, he and Jets head coach Robert Saleh agreed that he would leave the organization and pursue another position.

NFL fans have a lot of opinions on this hire. While LaFleur has experience running an offense with the Jets and also as the passing game coordinator with the San Francisco 49ers from 2017 until 2020, Sean McVay's experience with the offense is also well documented.

McVay is considered by many in the National Football League to be an offensive genius. He is seen as the main the reason why the Rams won the Super Bowl just last season. So, the question many want to know is how many top offensive-minded coaches do the Los Angeles Rams need?

Others wonder if this will be a resume booster for Mike LaFleur as he tries to rebound from the fiasco that was caused by quarterback Zach Wilson and the Jets offense. But all can agree that it will be interesting to see if LaFleur's influence can improve the Rams offense from this past season.

Rams scheduled to play one of toughest in the league next season

The Los Angeles Rams finished the 2022 NFL season with a disappointing 5-12 record. A polar opposite of the 12-5 season they had in 2021 that led to them winning the Super Bowl at home at SoFi Stadium.

Although the 2023 NFL Schedule won't be released for a few months, the list of each team's opponents for next season has been decided. And for Los Angeles, they will need to make major improvements from this past season as they will play the ninth-hardest schedule in 2023, based on this past season's records.

Opponents will, of course, include the NFC West: San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals. The 49ers will play in the conference title this weekend, and the Seahawks made the Wild Card this season.

Los Angeles will also play the Bengals, Eagles, Steelers, Packers, Cowboys, and Ravens to name a few. The NFC West is scheduled to play the entire NFC North and AFC North, along with others teams that have similar standings in their divisions.

Coach Sean Mcvay will likley be using free agency and the impending NFL Draft to build up parts of their roster that struggled this past season.
