The 2022 NFL season ended on February 13 when the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Philadelphia Eagles 38-25 to win the Super Bowl. Fans are now looking forward to the next phase of the football calendar, the offseason.

The first major part of the offseason is free agency, which will begin on Wednesday, March 15 at 4:00 p.m. ET. It is also known as Day 1 of NFL free agency.

Teams are allowed to enter negotiations with certified agents of players who will become unrestricted free agents during the two-day period ahead of free agency. That window will open on Monday, March 13 at 12:00 p.m. ET.

Here are three landing spots for Derek Carr ahead of the 2023 NFL season:

#1. New York Jets, AFC East

Zach Wilson and Mike White weren't convincing for the New York Jets in the 2022 season. Both quarterbacks have struggled to find their rhythm with the New York outfit and it appears that the organization is looking for alternatives in the market.

Derek Carr has emerged as a strong candidate for the Jets. New York's new passing-game coordinator Todd Downing has experience coaching him with the Raiders.

#2. New Orleans Saints, NFC South

The New Orleans Saints have shown clear indications of signing Derek Carr in the NFL offseason. They met with him earlier this month, while Carr was still under contract with the Raiders.

Although Carr refused a trade, he didn't specifically rule out a move to New Orleans. Interestingly, Saints head coach Dennis Allen worked with the quarterback in his rookie season with the Raiders.

#3. Washington Commanders, NFC East

The Washington Commanders seem to be interested in signing a quarterback in the offseason. The Washington outfit have a number of strong pass-catchers but are lacking a franchise quarterback to supply them regularly.

This should make it an appealing landing spot for Derek Carr. Reports also suggest that the veteran quarterback could be the solution for Ron Rivera's side heading into the 2023 season.
