Saurabh Sangvekar: A Brief Biography
India's promising long distance swimmer Saurabh Sangvekar qualified for the London Olympics in the 1500m freestyle event at the Singapore National Open Championships. Sangvekar clocked 15 minutes 34.67 seconds to make the cut in the Olympic qualifying event. The qualifying time for the event is 15 minutes 43.74 seconds. The swimmer had achieved the 'B' qualifying mark which doesn't guarantee his participation in Olympics. The world body FINA is expected to restrict the number of participants to 900 and all those who have made the 'B' qualifying would have to wait for the wild card entries.
