After 12 non-stop days of action, the first Asian Poker Tour (APT) of 2019 ended in Vietnam at the Pro Poker Club.

Vietnam has emerged as the fastest growing poker destinations in Asia. This has become a favourite destination for poker professionals from across the world. Or at least an entry-field of 585 unique players with a total of 3800 entries this year indicates. The turnaround was a lot higher than other Asian destinations like Manila resulting in the whopping give away of over VND 40 billion (₹12,25,25,869) in cash prizes across the 22 events on the schedule.

2019 APT Vietnam: The Steady Indians

It was a memorable series for Indian players as they put up a great show with 23 scores. Abhinav Iyer led the charts with a brilliant win in the Main Event (VND 2,269,092,000- ₹69.60 lakh). Last year’s WPT Vietnam Main Event winner Dhaval Mudgal also came close to winning his second title on multiple occasions. He finally, settled for a runner-up finish at the Monster Stack II (VND 216,711,000 – ₹6.66 lakh).
