The Biden administration has come under fire yet again for allegedly removing patriotic imagery from the US passport. X account, @EndWokeness claimed that the administration had gotten rid of the images of the US flag, the iconic eagle, and "We The People" from the new rollout of next-generation US passports.

However, next-generation passes were first issued way back in 2021. They were approved even before that, during Donald Trump's last full year as United States president. Apart from that, the iconic bald eagle is still present, just on a different page. Hence, the claim that Joe Biden removed patriotic images from new passes is false.

The new-generation passports were first issued in 2021

Multiple prominent X accounts recently claimed on the platform that Joe Biden was responsible for allegedly taking off all the patriotic imagery from American passports. End Wokeness released a tweet claiming that the Biden administration was rolling out new and redesigned boarding passes.

The account claimed:

"All the iconic American imagery is gone. The eagle, American flag, and "We The People" have been removed."

Ann Vandersteel, a war correspondent and the host of the podcast Right Now with Ann Vandersteel asked the question on X as to why the Biden administration was removing patriotic imagery from the passes. She further wrote:

"Why are they taking down historic statues, and renaming anything related to our founding."

She added before claiming that "Tyrants" were taking over the country:

"How are illegals being allowed in by the millions, and habeas corpus being suspended for our J6 POLITICAL PRISONERS??"

However, it wasn't just those two accounts; other commenters, including Elon Musk, who was present in the End Wokeness section, believed the claims and condemned the Biden administration. Nobody liked the way the passes looked and it was made pretty clear in the comments.

However, the claims about Biden's government are false. The next-generation passes are not a new rollout and have been issued from 2021 onwards. End Wokeness was hit with a community note that pointed out the aforementioned years with the help of multiple government links.

Completely contrary to the earlier claims, the iconic American bald eagle was present in the pass, only on a different page as to the previous edition. The official state travel webpage confirmed that this version of the pass was a "modernized" one issued in 2021. The webpage details:

"The Next Generation Passport book (NGP) uses new technologies to produce a more robust passport with enhanced security features, such as a polycarbonate data page, laser-engraved personalization, and updated artwork."

As mentioned above and confirmed by the United States Department of State, the next-generation US Passports were approved by the Trump administration and later issued in 2021. The new design was approved back in 2020, during Donald Trump's tenure as the United States president.
