In the Thursday, October 19, General Hospital episode, Trina asked Spencer to consider their future together and confronted him with questions about his relationship with his baby brother Ace. The episode depicts Spencer's tender brotherly love for baby Ace which has confused viewers.

While the feeling touches viewers, it is still hard for fans to understand the intensity of the affection. Spencer seems to have an overwhelming affection for Ace which Trina has started questioning. While some fans speculate Spencer's paternal instincts for Ace, this would make things more complicated. Nothing is sure as of now.

General Hospital has a lot of complicated relationships intertwined with each other. The show which holds the Guinness World Record for longest running American soap opera, debuted in April 1963.

It also has earned 14 wins in the Daytime Emmy Awards. Airing on ABC, the show celebrated its episode 15,000 on June 22, 2022, under the flagship of Disney. The show currently revolves around the residents of Port Charles rather than just the hospital.

Fan theory questions Ace’s paternity to explain Spencer’s love in General Hospital

Charming and charismatic Spencer is one of the most liked characters in General Hospital. Despite having some flaws in his character, his love for Trina and his affection for his baby brother have won hearts. However, in a recent episode released on October 19, 2023, Trina questioned his dedication towards his brother.

While Trina wanted him to decide his future and happiness, the spoilt-for-choice youth answered that just Trina and Ace make him happy. On one hand, Trina thinks Ace needs a father and on the other hand, she has to assure Spencer that she is not creating a rift in the relationship between the two brothers as Spencer doubts her intentions. Moreover, she warns him that when Ace grows up, Esme will be making decisions and calling the shots.

While Trina’s questions are very practical, viewers are left wondering about the intensity of Spencer’s love for Ace. The question that arises here is whether Spencer is stepping into the role of Ace's father by showering extra attention towards the baby.

Fan theory moves towards speculations around Ace’s paternity. As such, it was revealed before that Nikolas Cassadine was not the baby’s father. This brings on the question about the relation between the baby and Spencer.

The speculations point towards Spencer being Ace’s father thus explaining the additional care he gives the baby. However, the probability of such an event may destroy any possibility of a Spencer-Trina bond happening in the future in General Hospital.

While Trina is a considerate and nice girl, a breach of trust on her partner’s part may be unacceptable. Moreover, being dumped with Spencer’s son is a responsibility she may not be prepared to shoulder.

Where is the Spencer-Ace relationship heading?

As per fan theory, the plot of General Hospital has come to a corner where the movement of the storyline looks problematic. The writers cannot make Spencer shirk off his charge of the baby without spoiling his image of a kind, good-natured guy. On the other hand, his unwavering attention towards Ace is bringing up suspicions and uncomfortable questions.

A bigger concern for fans of General Hospital is whether the devoted couple Spencer-Trina, also lovingly called Sprina, may get affected. Trina is already confronting Spencer about his plans for their future. If rumors or any semblance of reality about Ace’s paternity connecting to Spencer reaches her, she may call her relationship off.

While it is not known whether the writers wanted the plot to lead to this complication, viewers can continue looking out for the next twist in the story of General Hospital from Monday to Friday on ABC.
