Showtime's new drama series, Ghosts of Beirut, is all set to premiere on the channel on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at 10 pm ET, as per CinemaBlend. It releases on streaming on Friday, May 19, 2023. The movie is based on the true story of the manhunt for Imad Mughniyeh.

It depicts the numerous challenges that went into the investigation as Mughniyeh outsmarted the authorities for several decades. The show stars Hisham Suliman and Amir Khoury, who portray the character of Imad Mughniey.


Showtime's Ghosts of Beirut trailer promises a gripping spy thriller

Showtime released the official trailer for Ghosts of Beirut on April 19, 2023, and it offers a peek into the numerous pivotal events set to unfold in the new spy series. The trailer begins with a mysterious line that says:

''I want you to know everything about my life. I want you to know who I really am.''

The trailer then briefly depicts several thrilling moments from the show. Fans of the popular Netflix show Fauda will certainly enjoy this series due to its tonal and thematic similarities. Along with the trailer, Showtime also put out the official description of the show on their YouTube channel:

''Ghosts of Beirut is a four-part spy drama based on one of the greatest espionage stories of modern times: the manhunt for Imad Mughniyeh, the elusive Lebanese terrorist who outwitted his adversaries in the CIA and Mossad for over two decades. The limited series features an innovative narrative approach augmented by deep journalistic research and documentary elements.''

Based on the official trailer and synopsis, viewers can look forward to a powerful spy thriller that explores a number of complex themes like justice, national security, and terrorism, among many other things. It is a four-part series, and all four episodes of the show are expected to premiere on the same day on Showtime.


A quick look at Ghosts of Beirut cast

The spy thriller drama show stars Amir Khoury as a young Imad Mughniyeh. Mughniyeh was a notorious Lebanese terrorist believed to be the head of the Hezbollah organization in Lebanon.

Khoury perfectly captures his character's raw anger and charisma with stunning ease, and viewers can expect him to deliver a powerful performance in the film. Besides the new spy drama series, Khoury is known for his performances in Image of Victory, The Little Drummer Girl, and 7 Days in Entebbe, among many more.

Actor Hisham Suleiman also plays the role of Mughniyeh. It'll be interesting to see how his performance pans out as he dons the role of the older Mughniyeh, as he is expected to play a key role in the story.

His other acting credits include Steven Spielberg's Munich, Yasmine's Song, and Fauda, to name a few. The rest of the supporting cast includes various other talented actors like:
