Whitney Houston moved into her Beverly Hilton suite in February 2012, and she was ready to attend Clive Davis' annual pre-Grammy celebration on February 11 and the next day’s awards. Earlier in the day, Houston's long-time assistant, Mary Jones, stepped out of the singer's suite for a few minutes to get her a dress and came back to see her face down and insensitive in the bathtub.

Beverly Hills firefighters showed up at 3:30 pm and performed CPR for 20 minutes before announcing Whitney Houston's death at four o'clock. There were pills in the bathroom, but Houston’s pills had been moved, and her driver's license had disappeared. The coroner's report concluded that she was "heavily addicted to cocaine" and that this "contributed" to her accidental death. But Mary Jones believed there was an indictable offense.

And so far, there are still a lot of unanswered questions about how Whitney Houston died at the Beverly Hilton when she was only 48.

What did the Investigators Find?

In a gruesome turn of events, Whitney Houston passed away the next day and was discovered with a bloody purge coming out of her nose. The coroner's report identified drowning and the effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use as the cause of Whitney Houston's death. The coroner's office also testified that she was found in a bathtub filled with water with the taps off.

Drug paraphernalia was scattered around the bathroom, including a teaspoon with a white crystal as a substance in it and a chunk of white rolled paper. There were also 12 bottles of prescription drugs in the report. Whitney Houston’s body was found with a wig on her head.

She had breast augmentation scars and defibrillator marks used to try resuscitation at the scene. Houston had traces of marijuana and cocaine in her body, while her room contained a bottle of open champagne, two beers, and free pills.
