A victim of the 'water boys' scam in Atlanta claimed that Young Thug promised to help her initially but later rescinded his offer. For the uninitiated, several drivers have fallen prey to 'water boys,' a group of teens selling bottled water on the streets of Atlanta. One of the victims claimed the 'water boys' stole $1,100 via her Cash App in June 2025.

On October 23, 2025, a woman took to social media to make accusations against Young Thug regarding the 'water boys' scam. In the video, reposted to X by @mymixtapez, the woman claimed that Young Thug commented under her video where she spoke about being scammed by the 'water boys' and asked her to reach out to him, suggesting that he wanted to give her money.

She accused the YSL rapper of making "empty a** promises" in an attempt to make himself look good, saying:

"I think it's weird that Young Thug keeps using regular people like me and our situation to gain a more positive clout. And it's like, people are seeing you in a negative light already, so you gonna use somebody like me, like the water boys situation, and comment under some s**t and be like 'hit me up.'"

"Like, as if you finna give me some money or something like that. Not that I actually need your money, but it's the fact that y'all be making these empty a** promises to try to make yourself look good."

According to Fox News 5, a woman by the name Tristen Richardson claimed that Atlanta's 'water boys' scammed her while buying from them. She said she didn't have two dollars on hand, so she offered to pay them via Cash App, resulting in one of the boys taking her phone to type in the correct username.

"One of the boys came up to my window. He took the phone. He was like, nah, let me just, let me just type in the right [username]. When he gave the phone back to me and I sent the payment, it was $1,100."

Richardsen added that she reported the theft to the Atlanta Police Department, and she was not the only victim. Earlier that same week, a man lost $1,000 at the same intersection after an encounter with the 'water boys.' The police report stated that the teens used the same technique on the man. Additionally, another woman lost $800 after scanning a QR code provided by the 'water boys'.

Woman accusing Young Thug of breaking his promise recalled his earlier incident with Kevin MaCall

The woman accusing Young Thug of not keeping his promise to help her after the 'water boys' incident compared her situation to Thug offering to pay Kevin McCall $25,000 before withdrawing his offer. Furthermore, she called the rapper "weird" and told him to stop using other people's situations to "look good."

For context, McCall, a singer-songwriter and rapper, claimed that Chris Brown refused to compensate him for his work, despite earning $90 million on his recent tour. During an appearance on Back On Figg, which aired on October 20, McCall claimed Brown owed him $3 million in royalties.

According to Rap-Up, he tearfully added that he was on an EBT card and asked Brown to pay him $25,000 for the four songs he worked on for the singer.

Following this, Young Thug took to his X account to write that he was willing to give McCall money, posting:

“Kevin McCall hit me my n***a, I’ll give u the 25k u need, and i no CB would give it to u also bro he a real one. N***as is busy sometimes brada.”

However, he rescinded the offer in a follow-up X post on October 23, writing, "Sorry Mc lol ain't no this was all happening kid." Meanwhile, Brown seemingly responded to McCall's allegations via Instagram Story, alluding to the pair burning bridges.

"Remember this: you can’t walk across a burnt bridge. And you know what’s funnier than a troll? A BROKE ONE," he wrote.

In other news, Young Thug is scheduled to hold a concert, titled "Young Thug & Friends," in his hometown of Atlanta on December 16, 2025.
