Megan Danielle, the impressive runner-up of American Idol season 21, has managed to captivate audiences with her talent and performances. When she was young, her parents, DJ Phillips, and Monica Page, separated, and her mother became her primary caregiver. The separation affected her a lot and she blamed herself for what transpired but ultimately braved it with her mother and grandfather's constant support.


Megan Danielle has three siblings

Megan was born to parents DJ Phillips and Monica Page. As mentioned earlier, her father is an electrical expert and the owner of Phillips Electrical. He has been working in the residential and small commercial electricity sector.

Even though Phillips is separated from Monica, he tries to remain involved in the lives of his four children, including Megan. He is a proud supporter of the Christian faith and often shares posts about Jesus' teachings on his accounts. He recently took to Facebook to praise the American Idol runner-up.

Megan's mother, Monica Page, became her primary caregiver after her parent's separation. As mentioned earlier, Megan Danielle has three siblings - Kaila Phillips, Whitney Phillips, and Austin Phillips.

Megan's late grandfather, Chuck Bass, played a significant role in her life as he encouraged her to pursue her dreams and reach her full potential. She once said that when she was 18, she was in a band that performed at various bars and other venues. Megan added that she didn't like performing in bars as she feltlike she had to act like someone she wasn't "just so the people would like what they were hearing."

Megan then said that during one of these shows, her grandfather pulled her to a side and asked her what she was doing as it wasn't "what you're supposed to be doing." The American Idol contestant noted that her grandfather looked her "dead in the eye" and said, "How can you sing for God and sing for this?" She said that this was what led to her to finally switch totally to Christian music.

Her love for gospel songs reflects her deep-rooted faith and serves as a testament to her religious beliefs.

Megan found solace in music following her parents' divorce, using it as a means to cope with the challenging time.

While Megan's mother and grandfather have been significant influences in her life, DJ Phillips has also played a supportive role.

The young singer also her versatility with renditions of Adele's Easy On Me and Fleetwood Mac's The Chain. Judges loved her take on We The Kingdom's Holy Water" and Lauren Daigle's anthem Thank God I Do.

Megan's playlist didn't stop there. She rocked everyone's world with Bonnie Raitt's Angel from Montgomery and paid tribute to the legendary Vince Gill with Go Rest High on That Mountain. Megan also gave a dose of '90s nostalgia with Alanis Morissette's Head Over Feet.
