On Thursday, October 26, LE SSERAFIM Chaewon's agency, SOURCE MUSIC, released a statement denying all rumors surrounding the K-pop idol being the unrevealed, high-profile girl group member booked for a drug investigation.
Recently, G-Dragon and the Parasite actor, Lee Sun-kyun, have been charged with drug abuse, and the investigations are currently ongoing.
In light of the same, there have been speculations of another high-profile K-pop girl group member who's also been charged with the same, and netizens began to speculate whether the idol was LE SSERAFIM's Chaewon. Given that the idol is currently inactive due to being diagnosed with Influenza Type A, people debated whether it was a cover story to hide the idol's drug abuse investigation.
However, the idol's agency, SOURCE MUSIC, immediately responded to the rumors by stating that the accusations were false.

As fans debated and discussed who the K-pop idol was, several allegations landed over LE SSERAFIM's Chaewon due to her recent inactivity. Though the agency recently informed that the idol would be sitting out her upcoming schedules due to being diagnosed with Influenza Type A, netizens couldn't help but wonder if it was a cover story for the idol being investigated.
However, SOURCE MUSIC was quick to respond and put the rumors to rest with their statement release. The agency stated:
"All rumours surrounding Kim Chaewon are absolutely not true. She is currently recuperating from the effects of the flu (Influenza type A). Kim Chaewon will return on November 1."
In addition to SOURCE MUSIC's statement release, the police also reverted to the ongoing speculations and informed the masses that there was, in fact, no girl member who was booked for the drug investigation.
However, despite the police's statement and clarification, there have been several passing rumors that speculated whether certain K-pop idols and K-drama actors were involved in the questioning for drug abuse.
On the other hand, G-Dragon was brought into the drug investigation following their questioning with the Parasite actor, Lee Sun-kyun. Given the idol's previous history of drug abuse and the police finding sufficient evidence on G-Dragon, the idol is currently booked without detention at the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency, as reported by Times Now News.
In response to the same, his label, YG Entertainment, released a statement confessing that they weren't aware of the investigation and were also unable to properly respond to the situation since G-Dragon is no longer signed with the label.
