It is worth noting that the British cargo ship collided with Polesie, a Bahamas-flagged cargo vessel, which had 22 people on board. Officials also shed light on this collision and said that the water temperature at the time of the collision was 12C. This is reportedly a temperature at which a person can survive for about 20 hours, as per an official from the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service.

However, after 24 hours, the search mission for the missing individuals from the cargo ship was called off. The cause of the collision is not clear as of this writing.
