Sean "Diddy" Combs' mother, Janice Small Combs, released a statement about her son on Sunday, October 6, 2024. Her statement was made for the first time since the rapper was arrested in September on multiple charges including s*xual assault and s*x trafficking, among multiple other charges.
Janice expressed disappointment over Bad Boy Records' founder being "publicly" lynched before getting an opportunity to defend himself in court. Her statement came days after the Houston lawyer, Tony Buzbee, announced that he was representing 120 alleged victims of the singer.

Janice Combs released her statement, through her attorney, Natlie G. Figgers, which was exclusively shared on The Hollywood Reporter.
“It is truly agonizing to watch the world turn against my son so quickly and easily over lies and misconceptions, without even hearing his side or affording him the opportunity to present his side,” Janice said.
In her statement, Janice stressed that Diddy wasn't being given a chance to present his case before facing "public lynching." She noted that it was "heartbreaking" to see her son being judged for "a narrative created out of lies" and not the truth.
“To bear witness what seems to be like a public lynching of my son before he has had the opportunity to prove his innocence his a pain too unbearable to put into words,” Janice stated.
Janice Combs seemingly addressed Cassie Ventura’s lawsuit against Diddy in her official statement
Diddy's ex-girlfriend and singer, Cassie Ventura, filed a lawsuit against him in November 2023. She accused him of physical assault, r*pe, and other abuses.
CNN released surveillance footage in May 2024 showing Diddy grabbing, shoving, dragging, and kicking Ventura across a Los Angeles hotel corridor. The assault reportedly took place in May 2016.
Seemingly addressing the same, Janice Combs said that she didn't want to portray her son "as perfect because he is not," before discussing the lawsuit.
“My son may not have been entirely truthful about certain things, such as denying he has ever gotten violent with an ex-girlfriend when the hotel’s surveillance showed otherwise," Janice stated.
Janice also spoke about her son's legal team settling Ventura’s lawsuit, which resulted in the federal government believing that Sean was admitting guilt. She added that the other alleged victims who made the allegations were trying to benefit monetarily and not to seek justice.
“These individuals saw how quickly my son’s civil legal team settled his ex-girlfriend’s lawsuit, so they believe they can receive a quick payday by falsely accusing my son,” she noted.
Janice then claimed that her son has been “stripped of his dignity” for what people choose to believe about him. She also pleaded with people to not judge others for "a single action or a few mistakes" that they have made in their lives, seemingly referring to the accusations against her son.
Janice Combs’ statement was released after attorney Tony Buzbee revealed that he was representing 60 male and 60 female accusers.
The lawyer revealed that the youngest alleged victim was nine years old at the time of his alleged assault. The victim claimed that Diddy promised to "make him a star" before forcing the boy to perform oral s*x on him after asking to meet him privately.
