US Army general Mark Milley recently made headlines on social media for his remarks about Donald Trump in the book War, written by journalist Bob Woodward. Milley served as the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff for around four years and was appointed by Trump for the position.
Although the book is scheduled to arrive on October 15, 2024, The Independent acquired a copy in which Milley called Donald "fascist to the core." Mark elaborated by saying:
"He is the most dangerous person ever. I had suspicions when I talked to you about his mental decline and so forth, but now I realize he's a total fascist. He is now the most dangerous person to this country."
In response, netizens took to the comments section of a post shared by Republicans Against Trump, expressing their reactions to Milley's remarks. One of them criticized Milley on X, writing:
"Milley clearly committed treason. There is no question."
However, few people were spotted supporting Mark.
"Common theme among most of those who previously served in his admin," an X user wrote.
"He has been saying it!!! We will never bow down to a king or wanna be Dictator!" a reaction stated.
Additionally, a section of the public was spotted slamming Woodward for the book. A user also addressed Milley by questioning why he did not endorse Kamala Harris.
"I don't trust anything Woodward has to say," an X reaction read.
"Bob Woodward go back to Nixon watergate! Is he writing his book from a hospice bed?" another user mentioned.
"Why hasn't he endorsed Harris?" a user on X wrote.
Furthermore, the criticism and support towards Milley continued below the post.
"Talking about the guy who bragged about committing treason, yea I'd pick someone else to praise," an X user mentioned.
"Milley is 100% accurate but MAGA wants him to be an authoritarian dictator. They cheer him on at every step he takes towards fascism," another user wrote on X.
"Mark Milley is an absolutely deranged disgrace," a person commented.
Notably, Milley had previously targeted the former President of the United States during the former's retirement ceremony in September last year. Although Mark did not mention Trump directly at that time, he was reportedly heard saying:
"We don't take an oath to a wannabe dictator! We take an oath to the Constitution and we take an oath to the idea that is America – and we're willing to die to protect it."
Bob Woodward's upcoming book reportedly reveals more details about Donald Trump
Although War is yet to be released to the public, the book includes a lot of unknown information related to Donald. It reportedly recalled the time of the Capitol attack in 2021 by Donald's supporters, stating that Mark Milley tried to have a meeting with Attorney General Merrick Garland for an investigation related to domestic violent extremism and far-right militia movements.
Woodward's book says that Milley was sure about the fact that Donald was a danger to everyone. Bob also mentioned that while he went to meet Mark, the latter told him that they needed to talk, calling Donald "dangerous" for another time.
The book reportedly features details related to the relationship shared by Trump with Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia. Woodward explained:
"According to Trump's aide, there have been multiple phone calls between Trump and Putin, maybe as many as seven in the period since Trump left the White House in 2021."
Woodward also says in the book that he questioned Donald's aide Jason Miller about the calls with Vladimir, and Miller replied by saying that he was not aware of it. Woodward later approached Joe Biden's director of national intelligence, Avril Haines, about the calls, who said in response:
"I would not purport to be aware of all contacts with Putin. I wouldn't purport to speak to what President Trump may or may not have done."
Meanwhile, Trump has sued Woodward for $50 million, alleging that Bob released tapes of their interviews for another book, Rage, without seeking Donald's permission. Woodward's legal team is working to dismiss the lawsuit and denied the claims in the court filing, stating that Bob has never misused the interviews in any manner.
