On September 4, Donald Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social to express his gratitude towards Brittany Mahomes for supposedly endorsing him for president. The former president wrote:
"I want to thank beautiful Brittany Mahomes for so strongly defending me, and the fact that MAGA is the greatest and most powerful Political Movement in the History of our now Failing Country."
He added:
"With Crime and Illegal Immigration totally out of control, INFLATION Ravaging all Americans, and a World that is laughing at the stupidity of our hapless “leaders,” it is nice to see someone who loves our Country, and wants to save it from DOOM. What a great couple - See you both at the Super Bowl!"
Brittany Mahomes' supposed endorsement of the GOP presidential nominee did not sit well with a lot of social media users, especially concerned fans of Taylor Swift, with whom Mahomes was friends. However, a slew of other social media users respected Brittany's opinion and congratulated her for standing up for what she believed in. One user even claimed that Mahomes was "100 percent certified MAGA". Here are a few X reactions in this regard:
Brittany Mahomes liked Donald Trump's Instagram post on the "2024 GOP Platform"
All the drama surrounding Brittany Mahomes and Donald Trump began when the former liked one of the latter's Instagram posts back in August. The August 13 post in question was titled "The 2024 GOP Platform". The post outlined 20 priority action items of the second Trump administration.
The items on the list included sealing the border and cutting federal funds for schools pushing critical race theory, extreme gender ideology, or other allegedly inappropriate racial, s*xual, or political content onto kids. Mahomes' one like triggered a slew of online backlash.
Even though she removed her like from the post in question, Brittany later liked a comment underneath one of her own posts that simply said, "Trump-Vance 2024". She also took to her Instagram stories to take a stand against the online hate that she was being subjected to. Mahomes wrote:
"I mean honestly, to be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep-rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood. There’s no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well."
Later on September 4, Brittany Mahomes opened up about dealing with online hate in an appearance on the Whoop podcast. Mahomes emphasized that when it came to fame, she and her husband, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, Patrick Mahomes got "thrown into the fire together" but conceded that he was much better at managing it than her as his father was a professional baseball player.
Brittany also revealed that her husband had been of great help to her, guiding her and coaching her through the fame. She also shared one piece of advice the quarterback gave her. Mahomes said:
"The main thing that, you know, he always told me is 'Stop caring about what people think, especially the people that don't even know you'. And so I think social media used to get to me a lot, and now honestly I don't give a 'f' '*' 'c' 'k' what people have to say about me anymore."
Brittany Mahomes has not responded to Donald Trump's Truth social post thanking her, as of yet.
