In early 2010, Hunter Moore found fame on his website, "IsAnyoneUp.com," a revenge porn hub. Initially, the website was used for clubbing and chatting. But then Moore posted a nude picture of his girlfriend on it. A week later, when he checked the site, there were 14,000 hits, and from there, he began posting more nude pictures. But, this time, the photos he published came not only from people who had shared themselves but also from others, usually ex-boyfriends and girlfriends.

Hunter, accompanied by a cohort, started hacking into people's computers and publishing indecent pictures they found hidden in the owner's files. The site has posted nude photos of students, teachers, women in wheelchairs, and even a woman on a physician's table after surgery without their consent.

Moore's site, at its peak over 16 months, had approximately 350,000 single users per day and advertising revenues of up to $30,000 per month. Hunter Moore proclaimed himself a “professional life ruiner.”

The website was closed in 2012 and sold, with the domain handover to the anti-bullying site Bullyville.com, founded by James McGibney, an activist. After the sale, all the pornography was removed, and whoever searched for the website was redirected to Bullyville.com. Moore apologized in an open letter when it was sold: "I think it's important that everyone realizes the damage that online bullying can cause."

Moore once called McGibney a "pedophile" and threatened to rape his wife. For that, James McGibney filed a defamation case and won $250,000 against Moore.
