Due to allegations of organised crime and human trafficking, Andrew Tate and his brother Tristian Tate were detained for three months in a Romanian prison. On December 29, authorities detained the polarising social media star, his brother, and two other people on suspicion of sexual assault and exploitation.

Although they won an appeal to be released from custody, the Tates and the other accused are no longer in prison but have instead been placed under house arrest until April 29th 2023. On May 19th, 2023, a judge extended that by another 30 days after it had already been prolonged by one month.

But Tate has now been charged in Romania for rape, human trafficking, and leading an organized crime group involved in the sexual exploitation of women. Alongside him, his brother Tristan and two associates have also been charged, although they have all vehemently denied the allegations.
