Executive producer of The Charlie Kirk Show, Andrew Kolvet, spoke out for the first time regarding speculation about billionaire Bill Ackman’s relationship with conservative commentator Charlie Kirk. On September 16, 2025, Kolvet took to X, explaining that he had checked directly with staff members who were traveling with Kirk in order to separate fact from rumor.
“I have been asked about the Bill Ackman event more than a few times now so I asked our staff who were traveling with Charlie to find out what’s true and what’s not,” he wrote.
Kolvet explained that Kirk’s team had been with him “100% of the time when he wasn’t in his hotel room.” Based on their account, he confirmed that Bill Ackman never confronted Kirk aggressively.
“Bill never yelled at Charlie, never pressed him on Bibi, never gave him a list of Charlie’s offenses against Israel,” Kolvet stated.
He also addressed concerns about the presence of Tucker Carlson at the Student Action Summit (SAS), clarifying that the pushback had not come from Bill Ackman. Kolvet recalled that Kirk himself had responded to the criticism by insisting that such suggestions only strengthened his resolve.
According to Kolvet, Kirk had said it made him “want to have Tucker” and that he had even planned to “lock him in for AmFest too.”
Summing up Charlie Kirk’s perspective, Kolvet stressed that the conservative activist viewed his interaction with Bill Ackman in a positive light.
“Charlie personally told me he had a very cordial relationship with Bill and the event was productive. Those are the facts,” he emphasized.
Kolvet continued his explanation in the comments section of his post, clarifying that his understanding was based on thorough personal observation. He noted that he had spoken to “all three team members” of Kirk’s team, “not counting security, who were with him”, because he “wanted to make sure one person hadn’t missed the alleged incident etc.”
Bill Ackman denies Candace Owens’ allegations over Charlie Kirk’s death

The relationship between billionaire Bill Ackman and late conservative activist Charlie Kirk became the subject of fresh controversy following allegations made by political commentator Candace Owens.
On her September 16, 2025, episode of her eponymous podcast, Owens claimed that Ackman had threatened Kirk during a private gathering in the Hamptons sometime before the activist’s death. She also alleged that Benjamin Netanyahu, the PM of Israel, had personally contacted Kirk and invited him to Israel shortly before the tragedy.
According to Owens, the so-called “intervention” was staged because of Kirk’s changing views on Israel. She said:
“So BB Netanyahu, in that phone call, what took place was a couple of weeks ago, before Charlie lost his life. Charlie was in the Hamptons...(and) an intervention was staged by Bill Ackman because Charlie’s thoughts, Charlie’s rational thoughts about Israel, were a no-no… Bill Ackman was very upset, and threats were made.”
Owens further alleged that Charlie Kirk was “under duress” and claimed he was offered money to alter his positions on foreign policy.
Bill Ackman swiftly rejected the accusations in a detailed post on X on September 16, 2025, calling them false and defamatory. He wrote:
“This afternoon @RealCandaceO slandered me by accusing me of ‘staging an intervention’ with Charlie Kirk in which ‘threats were made’ with respect to his supposed ‘evolving stance’ on Israel at an event I hosted in the Hamptons. Candace also intimated that I ‘blackmail[ed]’ Charlie.”
He admitted that responding to Owens’ claims about his relationship with Kirk was painful but said it was necessary to protect his reputation.
Ackman cited Owens’ own remark that she “would be very happy” if he disputed the narrative, explaining that while it pained him to give her program more attention, he felt compelled to “clear” his name. He also said he was saddened to see social media figures attempt to “monetize the tragic death of Charlie Kirk.”
Ackman then emphasized that he had never threatened or blackmailed Charlie Kirk and firmly denied ever offering him or Turning Point USA financial incentives to shape political views. He wrote:
“For the record, at no time have I ever threatened Charlie Kirk, Turning Point or anyone associated with him. I have never blackmailed anyone, let alone Charlie Kirk. I have never offered Charlie or Turning Point any money in an attempt to influence Charlie’s opinion on anything. In fact, my interactions with Charlie Kirk have been extremely cordial,” he wrote.
Ackman then went into detail about his actual interactions with Kirk.
According to him, the two first connected in late May when Kirk reached out over X, which led to a Zoom meeting in June. During that conversation, Kirk expressed concerns about young conservatives’ growing frustration with defending Israel.
Ackman wrote how Kirk had suggested that he help convene a group of youngsters to discuss a broad range of issues, including foreign policy.
Following that exchange, a two-day conference was scheduled in Bridgehampton from August 4–5. Kirk and his Turning Point team organized the agenda, which covered topics ranging from America’s economic future to cultural shifts and foreign policy.
Ackman explained that he moderated one session and hosted meals but was not present at the specific panel on Israel. He also described the gathering as constructive and respectful, adding that he was left impressed by Kirk’s approach to dialogue and his ability to mentor younger activists.
In his post, Ackman said that at the end of the event, he, Kirk, and the Turning Point team “discussed the events of the convening.” At the time, Kirk reportedly told him that he had “identified" potential Turning Point ambassadors” for future “open mic events on campus.”
Ackman concluded by stressing that his interactions with Kirk were limited, professional, and cordial.
He wrote:
“We agreed to keep in touch thereafter. We corresponded by text thereafter over the next few weeks on a range of topics that did not include Israel, and the next thing I knew, he was gone. In short, this was not an ‘intervention’ to ‘blackmail’ Charlie Kirk into adopting certain views on Israel. It was nothing of the sort.”
As of September 2025, Bill Ackman continues managing his hedge fund, Pershing Square Capital Management. Following his lengthy X post denying Owens’ claims about his alleged relationship with Charlie Kirk, he has not issued any further official statements.
Charlie Kirk, meanwhile, was assassinated on Wednesday, September 10, while speaking at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. The investigation into Kirk’s murder remains ongoing.
A suspect, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, was taken into custody and appeared in court on September 16, 2025. He faced seven charges, including aggravated murder and witness tampering. Prosecutors announced they were seeking the death penalty. Robinson, who wore a vest designed to prevent self-harm, did not enter a plea to any of the charges.
