Edison Chen, a leading designer and co-founder of the CLOT brand, has been announced as Adidas' latest partner. This partnership, aptly named Adidas by Edison Chen, is coming right on the heels of CLOT's 20th-anniversary celebration, and the two brands teased their first brainchild, the "Change The Generation" collection, on the runway of the Shanghai SS24 Fashion Week.
This year has seen Adidas partner with leading brands and celebrities all over the world, including Beyonce's IVY PARK, Bad Bunny, Verve, Gucci, Pharrell Williams, and even Nike, to create innovative and fashionable apparel and footwear and It seems that the collaborative streak is not ending any time soon.
Pieces from the "Change The Generation" collection will be available to the public from January 2024.

Edison Chen Koon-hej is a Canadian-born actor, singer, rapper, fashion designer, and entrepreneur based in Honk-Kong. Chen was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and is of Chinese-Portuguese descent. Having a Hong Kong entertainment industry mogul as a father influenced Chen's leanings toward fashion and entertainment.
Chen co-founded CLOT, a Honk-Kong-based streetwear fashion label, in 2003 alongside partners Kevin Poon and Billy Ip. CLOT is described as a lifestyle company taking inspiration from youth culture and bringing street fashion to China.
The company has collaborated with other big fashion brands like Nike, A Bathing Ape, Levi's, Polo, Subcrew, and Disney. CLOT has spread its tentacles around the world and operates multiple stores through its retail subsidiary JUICE STORE in Hong Kong, Los Angeles, mainland China, and Taiwan.
The 42-year-old fashion designer has named Nigo, the founder of A Bathing Ape, and Hiroshi Fujiwara, the "godfather of Streetwear," as his idols and aspires to have the kind of impact that the two have created in the mainstream fashion industry.
In the twenty years of CLOT's existence, the brand has grown from a regular Hong Kong-based streetwear brand to collaborating with some of the biggest brands in the fashion industry. Its partnership with Adidas is a testament to that fact.

It further states,
With a focus on fostering cultural exchange between the East and the West, Adidas is partnering with Chen to introduce collections that push boundaries and defy the norms with his thought- provoking designs."
The partnership, termed "Adidas by Edison Chen," has teased its inaugural collection, "Change The Generation," which features a relaxed reinvention of sportswear classics like loungy pajama sets and modern and edgy remixes of classic sneakers.
Edison Chen has taken advantage of the significant influence he has on pop culture to drive his designs and fashion brand, which brings to mind other artists like Virgil Abloh and Pharrell Williams.
This partnership is coming at a time when Chinese fashion brands like Louis Shengato Chen, Mark Gong, and Shushu/ Tong are opening themselves to the Western world and becoming household names.
On the collaboration, Edison Chen says:
"With Adidas, we're creating to inspire. I think the ability to create something freely is one of the reasons why I do this. My whole aesthetic, especially in the past few years, has fully transformed. I haven't had the chance to create through that lens yet, which is why this collaboration is exciting and nerve-wracking for me because we are heading in that direction through this partnership."
