Hayley Erin has returned to Genoa City, this time as a new character named Claire Grace. She first appeared on The Young and the Restless as Abby Newman from 2008 to 2010.
When she left the show, Melissa Ordway later took over the role of Abby in 2013. Furthermore, in an interview with Soap Opera Digest on 26 September 2023, Hayley said:
“I love the rules, or lack of rules, in the soap opera universe...I had never expected to come back, and I didn’t think it would happen, but I had hoped! I always thought, ‘Maybe they’d let me. And I’m really happy that the soap opera universe is so fluid, and these kinds of things can happen.”
Erin started working on The Young and the Restless when she was merely 14 years old. In the same interview with Soap Opera Digest, Erin also recalled spending her freshman and sophomore high school years on set.
She revealed that her first time on the show was intimidating. In retrospect, she thinks the reason was that she wasn't ready for the emotional depth of the material.
The Young and the Restless: All about Claire Grace
Hayley Erin returns to The Young and the Restless as a new character, Claire Grace. The character Claire Grace works at Newman Media. In the show, Grace comes from Oregon to Genoa City for an assistant job interview at Newman Media.
Claire admires CEO Nikki Newman of Newman Media and eventually lands the job. This puts her in direct conflict with major characters such as Adam Newman, who is now an assistant to Nate Hastings.
Raised by her great-aunt after her parents died in a car crash, Claire seems to have a complex background. However, her suspicious glance at a photo of Nikki and Victoria, coupled with her dossiers on the Newman family, suggests she may have a hidden agenda.
The Young and the Restless: All to know about Hayley Erin
Hayley Erin has made a lasting impression on daytime TV, playing memorable roles on both The Young and the Restless and General Hospital. She previously portrayed Kiki Jerome on General Hospital, a role she left for a part in the Pretty Little Liars spin-off, The Perfectionists.
Significantly, Erin described Kiki's on-screen death as a cathartic transition to her next project.
Before her soap opera fame, Erin had roles in TV shows including Melissa & Joey, Austin & Ally, and Modern Family. Her first acting job was in Malcolm in the Middle in 2004. However, it was her role as Kiki Jerome that really catapulted her into the spotlight. Notably, she earned a Daytime Emmy nomination in 2018 and won the award in 2019 for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series.
In a new venture, Erin debuted in her first feature film, a 2023 horror-thriller called New Life, alongside Sonya Walger from Lost. The film delves into the tale of a mysterious woman on the run and the skilled fixer tasked with capturing her.
Speaking of her personal life, Erin married Adam Fergus, known for his role in the Canadian series Being Erica, in 2020. She kept the marriage under wraps for some time. However, she unveiled it through a series of Instagram posts on 24 September 2023.
Adding another milestone to their lives, the couple welcomed not just one but two new family members in August 2021. Erin gave birth to twin daughters, Maude and Juno. Interestingly, Maude arrived first on August 9, and Juno followed on August 10, 2021.
