Well-known political commentator Richard Spencer has recently endorsed Kamala Harris, requesting everyone to vote for her in the upcoming US Presidential Election 2024.
Spencer has gained recognition over the years as an alt-right leader and aims to form a white-ethno state in the U.S. since he thinks that whites should reside separately from non-whites and Jews.
Notably, Spencer shared a lengthy video through his official page on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, November 2. He explained his reasons for voting for Harris, as stated in the caption.
While speaking in the video, he addressed the Israel-Iran conflict, and referred to Donald Trump, saying that the former president of the United States would be on the side of Iran and "start bombing Iranian nuclear facilities." Richard Spencer mentioned that Harris is different since she revealed her support for Israel at the Democratic National Convention.
"She'll give Israel lethal aid. She also said that the suffering is tremendous, and she also said that Palestinians deserve their own state, their own sovereignty, that they need to have a government, a legitimate organization through which they can live in peace, side by side with Israel."
Richard Spencer continued praising Kamala Harris, saying that she "goes with the flow" and added:
"That flow is going towards centrism, towards rational government, towards a sort of democratic hegemony … This is "something that I can responsibly support. So, I'm happily voting for Kamala Harris."
Apart from Richard, many famous personalities have been endorsing Kamala Harris, including Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Eminem, Julia Roberts, Jennifer Lopez, and more.
Richard Spencer has been associated with different organizations throughout his career
The Boston, Massachusetts native has always spoken up against racism, anti-Semitism, and white supremacy. As mentioned, he is known to everyone as an alt-right leader, which refers to alternative right, a word that he began using in 2008 for those who opposed things such as open immigration.
Starting in 2014, he began addressing anti-Semitism on different occasions and had once claimed at a press conference that he did not consider Jews as European. Apart from this, he formed an online journal called Alternative Right in 2010 followed by other publications such as Radix Journal and Washington Summit Publishers.
Richard Spencer has even visited institutions such as Texas A&M University and Auburn University to spread his white nationalist messages. He went on a college tour to achieve the same in 2016 and canceled it two years later after multiple people were arrested as part of a dispute between TWP and Antifa activists outside Michigan State University.
He had even supported Donald Trump during the presidential campaign in 2016 after the latter proposed to form a wall at the border of the United States with Mexico. He has been influenced by various white supremacists over the years such as Jared Taylor of American Renaissance.
Despite getting recognition as a white supremacist, Richard Spencer has mostly described himself as an "identitarian" or "alternative right." He explained the same to Vice magazine during a phone conversation and said:
"Identity is the most important question to answer. Who are we racially? Who are we historically? Who are we in terms of our experience? Who are we in terms of our community?"
He has also been the author of different books such as The Uprooting of European Identity and Hero Complex. The 46-year-old first enrolled at the St. Mark's School of Texas and completed his further studies at Colgate University and University of Virginia. He even joined Duke University as a PhD student in 2005.
