Joe and Nancy had a tough time understanding the clues in the first round and Ben took advantage of the opportunity, earning $7800 even before the first break. In total, Ben gave 15 correct answers, with two wrong responses. Joe gave seven right and three wrong answers while Nancy got two correct responses against two incorrect ones.

The scores after the round were Ben at $8400, Joe at $1400, and Nancy at -$400.

Joe gave Ben a run for his money initially in the round by scoring a daily double. Later, Ben gained the lead back in the last 10 clues by answering a daily double.

In total, Ben gave 25 correct answers and two incorrect responses. Joe answered 14 questions correctly, against six incorrect ones, while Nancy gave six right and three wrong answers.
