With the Wonder Cement Saath7 Cricket Mahotsav starting soon, we take a look at some inspiring stories coming out of the competition.
The Wonder Cement #Saath7 Cricket Mahotsav was launched on November 7 and recently completed its registration process on the 7th of December. The event has attracted around 9000 teams from all over the state of Rajasthan. The number of teams will be brought down to 3980 after a lucky draw, and the tournament will start on December 26. The last day of registration saw more than 5000 teams enlisting themselves in the tournament, and some interesting stories came out of it as well.A tournament like this spreads goodwill among the people and helps build stronger relationships in the community. The motive of community building was something the organisers would have always had in mind and the #Saath7 Cricket Mahotsav has also given rise to some great human stories. Here’s a look at some of them:
#1 61 year-old female team captain
61-year-old Mera Devi, a Rajasthan native, is determined to prove the world that “age is just a number”. The head of the family will captain one of the teams taking part in the statewide 7-a-side 7 over cricket tournament, Saath7.
She will lead the team which comprises of her family members, and the decision to become the skipper of the team shows an incredible level of exuberance from her side. Naturally, she wants her team to do well in the tournament rather than just make up the numbers.
We’re thrilled to see you play cricket, Mera Devi. Keep up the energy.
