Best NBA DFS players to target: Cade Cunningham, Collin Sexton & More, October 19 | 2022-23 NBA Season

Indiana Pacers v Detroit Pistons
Cade Cunningham of the Detroit Pistons is one of several great NBA DFS plays today.

There are 12 games listed for Wednesday's NBA DFS DraftKings and FanDuel Slates. Both slates begin at 7:00 p.m. EDT tonight. Let's take a look at the best players to target for both production and value this Wednesday, October 19.

NBA DFS Star Picks

Cade Cunningham, PG, Detroit Pistons (DraftKings $7.0k, FanDuel $7.9k)

Cade Cunningham had an excellent rookie year, and he'll look to keep developing towards his star potential. Last year he finished with averages of 17.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.6 assists. Detroit drafted Jaden Ivey to pair with Cunningham, and they added Bojan Bogdanovic to play a stretch four role. Cunningham should be the main scoring option, and he'll likely lead the Pistons in assists again. He'll kick off his sophomore season against a young, rebuilding Orlando Magic team tonight. This game is unlikely to end in a blowout, so look for Cunningham to perform well in around what should be 35 minutes of action.

Other NBA DFS Star Picks: Nikola Jokic, C, Denver Nuggets (DraftKings $10.3k, FanDuel $11.6k), Terry Rozier, SG/PG, Charlotte Hornets (DraftKings $7.3k, FanDuel $7.2k)

NBA DFS Value Picks

Collin Sexton, PG/SG, Utah Jazz (DraftKings $5.9k, FanDuel $5.9k)

Collin Sexton missed the majority of last season due to injury, and then this offseason, he got shipped over to Utah in the Donovan Mitchell trade. Sexton averaged 24.3 points per game back in the 2020-21 season, and now he'll join a rebuilding Utah squad where he has a good chance of being their leading scorer. It looks like the Jazz will bring Sexton off the bench to start the season, but he should enjoy a sky-high usage rate that will allow him to demonstrate his scoring ability. They will face a much more talented Nuggets team tonight, but the fifth-year guard will get his numbers regardless of the opposition.

Tre Jones, PG, San Antonio Spurs (DraftKings $4.2k, FanDuel $5.1k)

Tre Jones is set to take on a bigger role this year with the departure of All-Star guard Dejounte Murray. Jones only averaged 16.6 minutes per game last year, but in his 11 starts, he averaged 13.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 7.5 assists over 32.6 minutes. Now that he's the full-time starting point guard, expect Jones to massively improve upon his season averages from a year ago. Tonight, the Spurs will face a Hornets team that plays at an extremely high pace and allows a lot of points. Expect Jones to be one of the best value picks on tonight's slate, given his high potential workload and extremely low salary.

Other NBA DFS Value Picks: Keldon Johnson, PF/SF, San Antonio Spurs (DraftKings $4.6k, FanDuel $5.8k), John Collins, PF/C, Atlanta Hawks (DraftKings $6.1k, FanDuel $5.9k)
