Iowa Hawkeyes vs. Clemson Tigers Key Stats

Iowa is one of the best offensive teams in the country, as they currently rank fifth in the nation in points per game at 96. The Hawkeyes have only played one quality school, but it's still impressive to see how they're able to score with ease. Kris Murray, who is the identical twin brother of the Sacramento Kings' Keegan Murray, leads the tea with 23.8 points and 8.0 rebounds. The junior forward has stepped into a much larger role this year, and he's excelled so far. Recently he's tallied 29&30 points, but against a solid Clemson defense, it might be difficult for him to be around these figures again. Iowa also has four players besides Murray that averaged double-digit points, including upperclassmen Patrick McCaffrey and Flip Rebraca. Overall, the Tigers have been excellent defensively, but they have allowed opponents to cash in from three at a decent rate.

Clemson has covered just once this year, and offensively they haven't run up the score much this season. Shooting guard Chase Turner leads the team with 16.2 points per game, despite playing a minimal role for the Tigers over the last few years. He's joined by big man Hunter Tyson, who averages 12.4 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 1.4 steals. These two, along with the rest of the squad, have done a great job at taking care of the ball, as they average around just ten turnovers per game. Tonight, they'll need to find a way to slow Iowa's offense down if they are to pull the upset in Florida.

Iowa Hawkeyes vs. Clemson Tigers Betting Prediction

Not only has Iowa won all four games this year, but they've also been able to cover by a significantly high margin on average. They did beat Seton Hall by 16 points on the road, which is probably the only tough team they'd had to face so far, so they passed that test, but Clemson has just one loss on the year, and that was by just two points. As dominant as the Hawkeyes have been, expect Clemson, who should have a crowd advantage with the game in Florida, to cover the spread here, as they have done a great job at limiting turnovers.

Prediction: Clemson +8.5 (-110)
