Tennessee vs. Arizona Key Stats

The 9-1 Tennessee Volunteers have been led by an elite defensive unit. The Volunteers currently rank third out of 363 teams in the nation in scoring defense, allowing just 51.4 points per game. Their defensive rating, 73.7, has been the best in college basketball thus far.

Offensively, however, they have been a middle-of-the-pack team. Tennessee ranks 156th in scoring, averaging 74.0 points per game, while their offensive rating, 106.2, ranks 153rd.

The Volunteers are coached by Rick Barnes, who is in his eighth year with the program after spending the previous seventeen years coaching the Texas Longhorns.

Prior to the Longhorns, Barnes spent four years coaching the Clemson Tigers, six years coaching the Providence Friars, and one year coaching the George Mason Patriots. Tennessee's roster has five top-100 recruits, most notably the No.14-ranked recruit of the 2022 recruiting class, Julian Phillips.

The freshman forward is leading the Volunteers, averaging 11.6 points per game and 6.1 rebounds per game, however, he is one of five players averaging double-digit scoring.

The 9-1 Arizona Wildcats have arguably been the best offense in the nation, ranking first in scoring, averaging 92.0 points per game. Their offensive rating, 119.6, ranks second in the nation. The Wildcats have struggled defensively, however, as their scoring defense ranks just 325th, allowing 75.7 points per game. Their defensive rating, 98.4, ranks 184th in the nation.

Arizona is led by second-year head coach Tommy Lloyd, who previously spent two decades as an assistant coach on Mark Few's staff with the Gonzaga Bulldogs.

Their roster has five top-100 recruits and is led by junior forward Azuolas Tubelis, who is averaging 20.2 points per game and 8.6 rebounds per game, and sophomore center Oumar Ballo, who is averaging 18.1 points per game and 9.4 rebounds per game.

Tennessee vs. Arizona Betting Prediction

While the Tennessee Volunteers have been great this season, so too have the Arizona Wildcats.

In a matchup that will feature, arguably, college basketball's best defense and best offense, look for the Wildcats home-court advantage and experience to be the difference maker. Expect Arizona to win by at least four points.

Pick: Arizona Wildcats -3.5 (-110)
