India to tour Zimbabwe for five ODIs

The Indian cricket team’s tour of Zimbabwe has been finalised. The BCCI has confirmed that India will play five one-day international matches from July 24 to the August 3 this year. The first three matches will be played in Harare, while the other two in Bulawayo.

India will travel to Zimbabwe after the tri-series in West Indies that ends on July 11. Sri Lanka is the third team in the tri-series.

The BCCI had earlier put the Zimbabwe tour on hold considering excess cricket and fatigue to the players. The last time India toured Zimbabwe was in 2010, when Suresh Raina was made the captain of a team which had many young players in it. It’s likely that this time too, the selection committee wouldn’t send a full strength side in order to give some youngsters a chance to get exposure to international cricket.
