Chelsea defeated Manchester United 1-0 to lift the FA Cup thanks to Eden Hazard's penalty at Wembley. Hazard was at his majestic best and the build-up to the first goal was well crafted. The Belgium captain's first touch was so good that it opened up United's defense and while taking the shot it drew an error from Phil Jones which resulted in the referee awarding a penalty

The Blues withstood a second-half onslaught from United and managed to eke out a slender win to grab their 8th FA Cup title. Notably, they had finished as runners-up last year.

Chelsea had endured a difficult season as they had failed to qualify for the Champions League. In their last game, The Blues were thrashed by Newcastle United 3-0 and ended the Premier League campaign on a low. There was severe criticism all-around and this win would surely have pleased the fans.

Antonio Conte deserves a lot of praise for managing his team so well and his plan of playing ultra-defensive against Manchester United in the finals helped them clinch an important win. He also became the first manager to defeat Jose Mourinho in an FA Cup final.

After the match, Conte had the following things to say:

"But I think, also in this season, in a difficult season like this, I showed I'm a serial winner. This is the truth. To win in this way this season give me more satisfaction than my wins in the past."

On the other hand, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was fuming of what he perceived as Chelsea's negative tactics that hurt his team's chances. It was unfortunate that United's main player Romelu Lukaku had to start on the bench in this crucial clash.

Sadly for United, they have failed to win any trophy this season.
