Making her first overseas trip as a professional, India's Harshit Jawanda played two rounds of qualifying rounds before entering the main draw in the Irish Open, a PSA world tour event being held in dublin.

The Indian keen to improve her professional ratings, started pensively but got into her stride before long to defeat Hannah Craig of Ireland 10-12, 11-7, 11-6, 11-8 in the first round. Harshit was lot more confident in the final round next in disposing of Nadia Pfister of Switzerland in straight games 11-5, 11-8, 11-7 taking just 21 minutes.

The Indian is now slated to meet the fifth seed Alison Thomson of England in the first round of the main draw.

The only other Indian in this tournament is Mahesh Mangaonkar in the men's section. Seeded eight, Mahesh is scheduled to meet wild card entrant Arthur Gaskin of Ireland late on Wednesday.
