USA-based Mumbai squash player Vikram Malhotra simply continues to soar higher and higher in the PSA circuit! The 26-year-old clinched the men’s title at the PSA $5, 000 Malaysian Tour Leg 1 in Melaka on Thursday.

The fifth seed beat the eighth seed and local hope Eain Yow Ng, 13-11, 11-9, 11-5 in the summit clash to deny Malaysia a double.

Earlier in the women’s final, 17-year-old rising Malaysian star Sivasangari Subramaniam had emerged an 11-5, 11-4, 11-5 winner over the fourth seed Ho Tze Lok of Hong Kong. This is her maiden title on the PSA circuit.

As for Malhotra, this was his second international title in three months. In December, the Hartford resident had reigned supreme at the Florida State Open, winning the title as a qualifier. He backed it up with a run to the final of the Seattle Open in early March.

His recent success has seen his ranking shoot up to World No. 125 which is expected to rise even higher in April.
