Paris Olympics 2024: India's results on August 10 – Reetika Hooda fails to win medal, Aditi Ashok finishes 29th

India's Paris Olympics 2024 campaign ended with disappointing results on Saturday. Reetika Hooda could not make it past the quarterfinals of the women's 76 kg freestyle wrestling event. She suffered an unlucky 1-1 defeat in the quarterfinal against Aiperi Kyzy Medet, where Aiperi won because she scored the technical point last in the bout.

Unfortunately for Hooda, Aiperi lost her semifinal match against Kennedy Blades, so the Indian wrestler did not get a chance to compete for the bronze medal through repechages. However, fans were impressed with Hooda's performance in her first bout, where she won 12-2 against Bernadett Nagy, and in the quarterfinals, where she pushed the number-one-seeded wrestler to her limits.

The only other Indian athletes who were in action on the penultimate day of the Paris Olympics 2024 were golf players Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar. Aditi had finished fourth in the Tokyo Olympics, but this year, she finished 29th in women's individual golf. Her compatriot, Diksha Dagar, finished 49th.

With this, India's Paris 2024 Olympics campaign has ended. After winning seven medals in Tokyo 2020, India settled with six medals this time: one silver and five bronze.

Neeraj Chopra won the only silver medal for India by finishing second in the men's javelin throw finals. Manu Bhaker, Sarabjot Singh (with Manu Bhaker in mixed category), Indian hockey team, Swapnil Kusale and Aman Sehrawat won the bronze medals for India.
