
Luke Whitlock is a professional swimmer, representing Team USA. Born to the family of Trent and Kara Elliott Whitlock on March 8, 2006, Whitlock hails from Noblesville, IN, and became very passionate about swimming at a very young age. Luke went to Noblesville High School before moving to the University of Florida to continue his athletic and academic journey. During his high school and college days, he swam for the Noblesville Swim Club and Gainesville, FL, teams, respectively. Other swim clubs in which he has participated are Fishers Area Swimming, Tigers, Fishers IN, USA Swimming, Colorado Springs CO, Indiana Zone Team, and Indiana USA.
In 2023, Luke Whitlock at the Speedo Winter Junior Championship East won the gold medal to break the Indiana Swimming record. The new record swim time is 14:50.37 at the 1650 Y freestyle event. This is not Luke’s only time-breaking record. He broke the 21-year-old record held by legendary Michael Phelps’s personal best at the 400-meter freestyle event of 3:46.73 for the age group of 15–18. Luke swam a time of 3:46.42.
At the U.S. Olympic trials, he got close to the 2x Olympic gold medalist, Bobby Finke, with a second-place finish in the men's 800-meter freestyle with a swim time of 7:45.19. This feat saw Luke Whitlock become the youngest male swimmer to qualify for a spot on the Team USA swim team, and it also set a new national age group record for 17–18 years. In 50 Y Free, 50 L Free, and 100 Y Free events, he has recorded personal best swimming times of 22.14s, 25.56s, and 46.69s, respectively.
