As Gold Coast gears up to host the 2018 Commonwealth Games, the Indian table tennis team, boasting of some big names such as Sharath Kamal and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran seem to be working hard to put in their best efforts in the mega competition.

In a video posted by the International Table Tennis Federation from their official Twitter account, the Indian duo of Gnanasekaran and Anthony Amalraj are seen taking on each other in a bid to hone their skills ahead of the competition that is set to commence on the 4th of April, 2018.

Through the video, it can be seen that the duo of 32-year old Amalraj and Gnanasekaran are taking on each other with the latter assuming the attacker's role courtesy his seething topspin returns while Amalraj is happy to fit into a line of defence.

After a long, eye-pleasing rally of close to 30 shots, Gnanasekaran finally gets the better of his senior countryman with a strong forehand shot following which he turns to the cameras and sports a thumbs-up to celebrate his mini victory.

The 25-year-old, who hails from the state of Tamil Nadu, will be the highest ranked Indian player going into the competition while Amalraj will look to re-ignite some of his magic from the 2014 Commonwealth Games when he clinched the silver medal alongside Sharath Kamal in the doubles category.

Sharath Kamal himself is one of India's longest-serving players having won the gold medal at the singles event in the 2006 Commonwealth Games and also clinching the doubles championship in 2010. With buckets of experience under his belt, the veteran will hope to instil some confidence in the team and lead them to the title victory this year.
