The national-level table tennis tournament conducted by the All-India Public Sector Sports Promotion Board (AIPSSPB) in association with the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) came to a close at the G V Raja Indoor Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday.
The tournament saw some intense competition among the players with the action especially heating up in the finals of each of the categories.
Sharath Kamal of IOC took home the men’s singles title while Ankitha Das from Oil India Limited (OIL) won on the women’s side. IOC had more winners in the men’s doubles as Soumyadeep Roy and Sourav Chakraborty defeated Nithin Thiruvengadam and Sushmit Sriram from Airport Authority of India (AAI) to win the men’s doubles title.
Madhurika Patkar and Pooja Sahasrabudhe of ONGC claimed the trophy in the women’s doubles.
Indian Oil Corporation Kerala General Manger A Pandiyan, Sports Council president Padmini Thomas and actor Murali Gopi were present at the awards function and gave away the prizes.
