Subic Bay (Philippines), May 29 (IANS): Indian paddlers Soumyajit Ghosh and Harmeet Desai entered the men's singles second round of the World Tour Philippines Open here on Saturday.
In the first round, Soumyajit scored a straight sets win over Yuki Matsuyama of Japan 11-9, 11-7, 11-7, 11-6.
Harmeet also beat a Japanese player but was made to work hard for his 13-11, 13-11, 11-8, 4-11, 9-11, 11-4 win. Earlier, Harmeet qualified for the main draw after finishing second in his group behind N.G. Pak Nam of Hong Kong.
