Actor Johnny Wactor's mother, Scarlett Wactor has shared details about her son's alleged murder in an exclusive interview with US Weekly on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.

Wactor, 37, died in Los Angeles in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 25, 2024 after reportedly being shot in the chest. The report from The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner has determined that the gunshot resulted in Wactor's death and the cause of death is listed as homicide.

Speaking to US Weekly days after her son's tragic death, Scarlett Wactor revealed that she had spoken to her son's co-worker, who was with him on the fatal day. She mentioned that she was glad her son was "not alone" when he passed away. She said:

“[Wactor's co-worker] was very gracious in speaking with me so I could ask questions. She felt detectives were being very thorough and that made me feel comforted. I'm glad he was not alone.”

A few months before the General Hospital actor's death, his father also tragically passed away. He is survived by his mother and two brothers.

Speaking exclusively to US Weekly, Scarlett Wactor revealed that his son knew something was wrong when he saw his alleged murderer who had a "mask on". She said:

“When the person looked up he had on a mask, like a bandana. When he saw that he immediately knew something was wrong and that’s when he stepped in front of his coworker.”

Johnny Wactor was reportedly shot when he was with his co-worker. The two reportedly spotted three men trying to steal the catalytic converter from Wactor's car. He was allegedly shot by one of the men when he approached them and test reports later confirmed that he died due to a gunshot wound, listing the cause as "homicide."

Wactor's mother recalled her son's final moments, noting that she does not believe the actor was "angry". According to his mother, Johnny Wactor thought the men were towing his car and approached them to ask about the same.

"The car was jacked to one side, angled near his car and one person was down low. That’s why he said, ‘Hey, man, you towing my car?’ He was not angry from what I believe. He put his hands up and backed up or both and they shot him," she said.

Scarlett Wactor further mentioned that a security guard reportedly called 911 after he heard screams. An ambulance reportedly arrived at the scene a couple of minutes later.

She also mentioned that she spoke to L.A. City Councilman Kevin de Leon, who is looking into making detectives work for longer to solve the case. She also mentioned that there were CCTV cameras at the crime scene, which could help the police. She said:

"I asked police if they have any leads and they said they have a few, but it’s a process. That’s what he kept reminding me.”

Johnny Wactor's mother expressed her grief stating that his son would have easily given his car to the alleged murderers had they asked for it. She said that they took away a "wonderful person" for no reason. She added:

“If you read and see the outpouring of love, Johnny was such a bright light for anyone and everyone and he offered to help anyone."

The grieving mother sought justice for her son and opened up about her son's suffering again. Johnny Wactor and his brothers also lost their father months before the actor tragically passed away. Scarlett said:

"It's been hard to watch my boys suffer again. They were supposed to grow old together and bury me. Everything is in god’s hands and I will see my son again. I want justice. I don’t want it to be a cold case.”

According to what Johnny's brother Grant Wactor told PEOPLE, the General Hospital star was walking back to their vehicles after their late night shift at around 3:25 am when the fatal incident took place. Johnny Wactor used to work at a bar near the crime scene.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Wactor's family with their travel expenses and funeral expenses. Johnny Wactor has appeared in multiple shows over the years, including Westworld, Criminal Minds, Hollywood Girl, Station 19 NCIS, and Animal Kingdom. He was best known for his role as Brando Corbin in General Hospital.
