At the cottage on The Young and the Restless, Nick visited Sharon to talk about the invite to Nice. Sharon told him she couldn’t go because Mariah wasn’t doing well emotionally. She said she needed to stay and support her daughter.
Nick was disappointed but understood. He told Sharon the offer would still stand if she changed her mind. He seemed worried about how long she would keep putting herself last.
Daniel warns Phyllis as she barrels ahead

Mariah quickly got defensive and told him her personal life wasn’t any of his business. She was tense and emotional, showing that things were only getting worse for her.
Tessa soon showed up and once again tried to get Mariah to open up. But instead of getting through to her, the conversation took a turn for the worse. Mariah, feeling overwhelmed and frustrated, snapped. She told Tessa to stop hovering over her and then screamed at her to just leave her alone. The outburst was loud and painful, leaving Tessa in shock and the air thick with tension.
As the episode came to a close, the distance between Mariah and Tessa had grown even more. Sharon’s decision to stay home looked like the right one, but Mariah’s emotional struggles were spinning out of control. Her painful memories and refusal to deal with them weren’t just hurting her but also putting strain on her marriage.
