American television icon Morgan Fairchild recently returned for another spectacular guest spot on the long-running ABC soap opera General Hospital. Fairchild, who reprised her role as Haven de Havilland, brought her signature dramatic flair to the role in the General Hospital episodes that aired on April 12 and 15, 2024.

Fairchild has had an illustrious career, which includes memorable parts in classic television shows dating back to the 1970s. While her first appearance as Haven in General Hospital dates back to July 2022, her latest appearance brought forth a different aspect of the character than what fans were used to.

Morgan Fairchild plays a television show host in General Hospital

Morgan Fairchild plays Haven de Havilland on General Hospital. She is the host of a television show called A Little Bit of Haven on the Home and Heart shopping channel in the soap opera.

To promote Deception's products, Lucy Coe and Maxie Jones made an appearance on Haven's show in July 2022 alongside Sasha Gilmore, who served as the brand's face.

They had no idea that Haven had intentions to undermine Sasha to increase her show’s ratings. Haven chastised Sasha for losing her composure after her husband, Brando Corbin, had to come to her aid. ⁤⁤However, to avert bad press, Haven was pushed to apologize to Sasha by Deception investor Selina Wu.

⁤Haven and her producer conspired again in May 2023 to discredit Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) at her presentation of Deception's new offering. ⁤⁤They planned to make Sasha feel uneasy, but she was able to finish the presentation with Cody’s help, and later confronted and chastised Haven.⁤

⁤To make sure there was no more sabotage, ⁤⁤Haven grudgingly consented to have Cody appear alongside Sasha as the male Face of Deception, holding the previous producer responsible for the incidents in the past.

Haven soon recognized how excited the audience was about Sasha and Cody. ⁤Lucy and Maxie were back on the show in April 2024 to promote the new Deception products. ⁤⁤Meanwhile, Haven was disappointed when Lucy chose to host Sasha’s segment.

Lucy wouldn't stop talking about herself and the Nurses Ball, even when Haven tried to shift the conversation back to the merchandise. ⁤⁤Finally, Sasha showed up and took over the part. ⁤⁤Thanking Sasha and expressing relief, Haven hoped to see her again on the show.

Did Morgan also play Chandler's mother in Friends?

Yes, Morgan Fairchild portrayed Nora Tyler Bing, Chandler Bing's mother, in the sitcom Friends. Nora, a flamboyant author of erotic novels, didn't quite fulfill the role of a nurturing mother to Chandler, played by the late Matthew Perry.

Chandler often felt embarrassed by Nora's bold and unrestrained behavior. Her divorce from Chandler's father, which occurred when Chandler was young, marked his beginning to use humor as a coping mechanism.

Despite her unconventional parenting style, Nora was a highly successful writer, having sold 100 million copies of her erotic novels. Her success even inspired Rachel to pursue writing at one point.

About Morgan Fairchild

Born in Dallas, Texas, Morgan Fairchild gained widespread recognition for her roles in popular primetime soap operas, including ABC's Falcon Crest, NBC's Flamingo Road, and Dallas.

As her biography and The Daily Beast both mention, she famously began her acting career filling in for Faye Dunaway in the 1967 movie Bonnie and Clyde, especially in driving scenes where Dunaway couldn't shift a stick shift.

Besides her acting accomplishments, Fairchild has been active in the Screen Actors Guild, now SAG-AFTRA, having served as a board member for three years.

She is also a strong supporter of environmental concerns and a member of the Entertainment Industry AIDS Task Force, among other humanitarian causes.
