“Better than Brownie” - Fans draw comparisons between LeBron James’ sons as 16-year-old Bryce shines in high school

The basketball world is abuzz with excitement as LeBron James' sons, Bronny and Bryce James, continue to make their marks on the hoops world. Bryce is currently stealing the show in the 14th season of the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League.

At 16 years old, Bryce is turning heads with his impressive skills on the court, backed by the guidance of his father LeBron James, who assumed the role of coach for his younger son.

Recently, in a thrilling encounter during the EYBL season, Bryce James faced off against Cameron and Cayden Boozer, sons of NBA legend Carlos Boozer. Bryce shone, scoring 21 points, going 6-11 from the field and 5-9 from beyond the arc, and grabbing 5 rebounds.

Despite his stellar performance, his team fell short. Fans have begun drawing comparisons between the James brothers, with one enthusiast stating:

"Better than Brownie," a fan stated.
"Bryce is the better one," another fan quipped.

Bronny James played for Sierra Canyon High School and is now part of the USC Trojans in the Pac-12 Conference. A highly-rated recruit and McDonald's All-American, Bronny has showcased skills in defensive play, three-point shooting, and leadership qualities.

In his senior season, he took on a leading role and was joined by Bryce on the team. In August 2022, he led all scorers with 25 points in a 97–85 loss to U18 French Select in Paris.

During the Nike Hoop Summit, Bronny managed to score 11 points, also recording 4 rebounds, a steal plus a block. He secured his team’s victory with two free throws at 90-84 by that time.

LeBron James coaches son Bryce in Nike’s EYBL faces tough loss against Carlos Boozer's sons

After witnessing Bronny’s impact at the draft combine, LeBron James took on a coaching role for Bryce in Nike’s Elite Youth Basketball League. Despite his efforts, Bryce’s team, Strive for Greatness, faced a tough loss against the Nightrydas, led by former Bulls star Carlos Boozer’s son, Cameron.

Bryce James, representing Strive for Greatness, showcased his skills by scoring 21 points and grabbing 5 rebounds. However, Cameron Boozer overshadowed Bryce with an impressive 21 points and 9 rebounds, maintaining a perfect three-point shooting percentage. Cameron’s performance was pivotal in securing a win for the Nightrydas, despite LeBron’s sideline coaching.

The game attracted notable NCAA coaches such as Jon Scheyer, John Calipari, Dan Hurley, and Mark Pope, who watched courtside. Cameron Boozer ranked No. 7, significantly outperformed Bryce, who ranks No. 148 overall and is the 18th prospect from California in the ’25 class.

Do you think LeBron James should consider a future in coaching after seeing his involvement in guiding his sons, Bronny and Bryce, in their basketball careers?
