Geno Auriemma's UConn Huskies target Addison Bjorn joins Sienna Betts and others at the USA U19 national team trials

USA Basketball announced its women's U19 trials roster on Friday, and some big names, including Addison Bjorn, Sienna Betts, Aaliyah Chavez, Jerzy Robinson, Hailee Swain, ZaKiyah Johnson, and more. They will be heading to the trials in Colorado Springs from June 17-21. Those chosen to play with Team USA will then head to Brno, Czechia, from July 12-20.

The players will have some big boots to fill, as the USA women's U19 team won the World Cup in 2023 for the third straight time. The pressure is on Bjorn and the rest to make sure that the world championship streak continues.

Addison Bjorn has already won two gold medals representing the US, winning one during the 2023 FIBA U16 Americas Championships and then the 2024 FIBA U17 World Cup. She averaged 5.8 points and 3.5 rebounds in 2023 in Mexico, and put up 9.1 ppg, 6.7 rpg and 2.7 apg during the 2024 U17 World Cup, also in Mexico.

Her best game came during the group phase of the 2024 U17 World Cup, in a game against Puerto Rico. Bjorn almost had a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds. She did have a double-double during the quarterfinals, getting 10 points and 10 rebounds against Japan.

She also had her best game against Puerto Rico in the year before, during the FIBA U16 Americas Championships. She had nine points, six rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block.

Geno Auriemma's UConn Huskies have targeted the young prospect. Bjorn visited UConn in February.

Addison Bjorn is considered a Top 10 prospect from the Class of 2026, ranked No. 9 by 247Sports. This means that many schools have already sent the incoming senior scholarship offers.

Among the schools that are targeting the five-star small forward include TCU, Notre Dame, Northwestern, UCLA, Arizona State, Stanford, Ole Miss, Maryland, Colorado, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Baylor, Purdue, Alabama, Tennessee, Indiana, Creighton, North Carolina, Missouri, Cincinnatti, Virginia Tech, Kansas State, Florida, Oklahoma State, Auburn and more.

Bjorn was named the 2025 Gatorade Player of the Year for Missouri after a dominant season with Park Hill South High School in Riverside. She led the Panthers to a 28-0 record, averaging 22.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 3.3 steals per game.
