The St. John Bosco trio of Elzie Harrington, Brandon McCoy Jr. and Christian Collins showed what it can do in the opening game of the Braves Tip-Off Classic on Saturday against Francis Parker. It was a 41-point win, with a final score of 81–40 for St. John Bosco.

Ballislife put together a highlight reel of the St. John Bosco trio making easy work of its defenders. However, those who watched it noticed some fans were much louder than others and were annoyed by it.

"Hearing the parents n the background made ts worst each clip the hope of them winning was fading away," one wrote on Instagram.
"You gotta feel bad for the mom in the background," another wrote.
"I know that lady screaming in the back for her team hate to see y’all coming," another wrote.

However, many were simply impressed by the effort and athleticism of the three St. John Bosco standouts.

"McCoy definitely looking like the #1 player in the country. But we might gotta list him at SG/SF instead of PG bro dunking everything," one wrote about No. 1 ranked Brandon McCoy Jr.
"How is this fair lmaoooo," another wrote.
"Sheesh they ahead of they time," another wrote.

Brandon McCoy is the No. 1 ranked overall from the Class of 2026 and is a big point guard at 6-5. Meanwhile, Elzie Harrington is a four-star shooting guard, ranked No. 49 nationally from the Class of 2025. Finally, Christian Collins is a five-star small forward, ranked No. 8 overall from the Class of 2026.

St. John Bosco expected to have an easy schedule for the 2024-2025 season

The game against Francis Parker was a one-sided affair, though it is likely that this would continue for St. John Bosco throughout 2024 and the early part of January.

In its next few games against Metamora, Paideia and DeKalb, the school led by its "Big 3" is expected to dominate. It does have a few "TBA" opponents, but many of its scheduled opponents are all schools it is projected to beat, as predicted by On3.

However, its first big challenge will be the No. 1 ranked team in Virginia, Paul VI Catholic, led by the No. 6 prospect from the Class of 2026, Jordan Smith Jr. Four-star sophomore Troy Tomlin and three-star prospects Anthony Brown and Adlan Elamin will back the five-star shooting guard. This game is on Jan. 18.
