De La Salle's four-star small forward Alec Blair is not just a basketball standout, but also very good at baseball. He has already committed to and signed with the Oklahoma Sooners to play both basketball and baseball and on Thursday, ESPN's Sports Center Next Instagram page released a video of his hooping skills.
Blair was so good that he impressed former NBA star Matt Barnes, who commented on the Instagram post and praised the Oklahoma-signed slugger and hooper.
"He’s tough. Saw him play in person. I was very impressed," the former LA Lakers forward said.

The video highlights came from last Thursday's game, which pitted Alec Blair and the De La Salle Spartans against the Duncanville Panthers. De La Salle won that contest 65-62, extending the Spartans' undefeated streak to 13-0, with the team still not tasting any single loss this season so far.
The small forward picked Oklahoma over other schools such as Cal, Clemson, Oregon, Texas A&M and USC. With Oklahoma, he could play both sports, as the Sooners also have a good baseball program.
Last season, Blair averaged 9.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game and led the Spartans to the Northern California Open Division playoffs as his team's leading scorer and rebounder.
Here is how De La Salle coach Marcus Schroeder describes Alec Blair's basketball skills:
"Alec is such a unique player because of his size, his basketball IQ and his play-making ability," the De la Salle Spartans coach said. "He is such an efficient scorer and he can see every pass on the count."
After the basketball season is over, he is expected to play baseball for his school once again.
How good is Oklahoma commit Alec Blair in baseball?
Alec Blair's skill in basketball has been stated over and over again, with him being ranked No. 96 overall by the On3 Industry Rankings. The question now is, does his hooping skills translate to baseball?
For De La Salle, Blair plays both outfielder and 1st Baseman. His fastball has been recorded at 85 mph and he could run a 60-yard dash in 6.63 seconds. He is ranked No. 9 overall by Prep Baseball Reports and is already considered an MLB prospect despite also having a future in basketball.
Perfect Game also gave him a PG Grade of 10, which means he is considered a "Potential very high draft pick and/or Elite level college prospect."
