The last of Kobe Bryant's Mamba Academy hoopers, Amalia Holguin, wil enter her senior year in high school this fall. After her impressive junior season at Sage Hill in California, a clip of the former teammate of Gigi Bryant in action surfaced on Friday. It showed what she learned from the late NBA legend.
Many reacted and said that Kobe and Gigi would have been proud of her. It included Iowa State signee Jada Williams, who commented that Holguin was on fire on Friday.
"🔥🔥🔥," Williams wrote.

With Holguin part of the 2026 class, colleges are expected to step up their efforts to get her commitment. The former Mamba Academy student has offers from several big schools, including Louisville, UNLV, Fresno State Sacrament State and Seattle, among others.
In an interview with 247Sports, Holguin spoke highly of the Cardinals, admitting that she has some family and friends attending the school.
"I've talked to them," Holguin said in July. "I like Louisville and it's a great program. They have a couple of my friends from the West Coast (on the roster). So, some of my family is already there."
She also discussed her recruitment process.
"You only get this for so long," Holguin said. "I want to take it all in. A lot of schools are showing interest but I am open to everything. I'm still young in the process."
Holguin is not expected to make her collegiate decision any time soon.
Amalia Holguin has one last chance to win a state championship
Entering her senior year in high school, Amalia Holguin is expected to be motivated following her team's heartbreaking finals loss to Carondelet in the CIF Division I state championship game in April. Next season will be her last chance to win a state championship.
Sage Hill suffered a 51-48 defeat, as Carondelet sophomore Celeste Alvarez hit a dagger 3-pointer. Holguin led all scorers with 21 points; however, it wasn't enough to secure the victory.
Holguin also plays in the Nike EYBL circuit with Why Not Premier 17U.
