The youngest son of LeBron James, Bryce James, recently entered the Top 100 recruits in the Class of 2025. The younger James will have to choose which college he will go to next season, but for now, he represents the Strive for Greatness (SFG) AAU squad.
Bryce James talked about his team in a video uploaded by "UNINTERRUPTED," on their YouTube channel on September 23. James also said that his team is "special," because the players have known each other for a long time.
“This team's special because, you know, we all know each other very well. Like, we all play with each other. Like, especially me, Braden, LZT, like we all know each other since like the first time we ever started like SFG," said Bryce James. (14:36 - 14:57)
"Like we all know how to play with each other. So you know, this team is just special. Cause we all know like what we're capable of. We all know what we can do as a team. Just, yeah.”
The 17-year-old has all the spotlight on him after his elder brother Bronny James was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers. However, the Beverly Hills forward performed well in NIKE EYBL Peach Jam. In one of his appearances, the younger James scored 21 points while his father LeBron James was in the stands.
He also spoke about the challenges SFG faces:
"You know, like it's all like, it's SFG versus everybody. Like they all trying to cheat us out of the game and stuff. Y'all seen with the rest doing to us. They be give handing out text left and right so you know, it's, it just comes with the SFG on our chest."
Will we see Bryce James join the James clan in the NBA?
Bryce James' father, LeBron James, has been in the NBA for 21 seasons and his brother, Bronny James, was selected as the 55th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. Now, the Sierra Canyon High student has made the list of the Top 100 college basketball prospects for the Class of 2025.
With LeBron turning 40 this year, Bryce James was asked if he would join his brother and father in the NBA. He said:
"I’m not gonna lie, that’s OD (too much)," Bryce said. "Waiting until I — nah, that’s too much. That’s too much, no. No, good lord. He’s going to be 42, bro."
So far, James has received offers from Ohio State, Duquesne, and Bronny James' former team USC. According to On3, Ohio State has the highest chance of recruiting Bronny with a 92.6% probability.
