Bryce Underwood, the best prospect in the country, flipped his commitment to the Michigan Wolverines from the LSU Tigers on Nov. 21. He chose the Wolverines over top programs such as Michigan State, Ohio State, Alabama, Tennessee, Florida, Colorado and Georgia.
The five-star quarterback has been fantastic in high school and his future teammates at Michigan are already excited to watch him in Ann Arbor next season. The Wolverines' running back, Donovan Edwards, spoke about Underwood and Underwood and predicted him to have a great NFL career.
"I’m excited for Bryce because he’s most definitely a generational player," Donovan said, as per Michigan Football's Twitter account. "I think he’s going to do spectacular things here at the University of Michigan... There is no doubt in my mind he’s going to go on to do great things here and go on to do successful things and be successful, not only here, but in the NFL."
Underwood became the Wolverines' 19th commitment from the Class of 2025. Their class is ranked no.9 in the country and acquiring the No.1 ranked prospect in the nation will definitely improve Michigan's rankings going forward.
Barstool Sports' owner Dave Portnoy played a huge role in Michigan landing Bryce Underwood
Bryce Underwood made headlines this month after his flip to the Michigan Wolverines from LSU. Multiple famous people were involved in his commitment, including the likes of Tom Brady and Dave Portnoy.
Portnoy, especially, played a huge role in Underwood's pledge. Rivals' recruiting director, Adam Gorney tweeted that the Barstool Sports' founder pulled a lot of stops to convince Underwood to flip to the Wolverines.
"Barstool's Dave Portnoy did a marketing deal with Bryce Underwood to get him to flip to Michigan," Gorney wrote in his tweet on Nov. 26. "Oracle billionaire Larry Ellison ponied up a reported $12 million. Tom Brady got on the phone with Underwood. This is now the craziest recruitment of all time."
He was successful in his attempts as Underwood chose the Wolverines over the Tigers on Nov. 21. Underwood is now set to work with Portnoy's Barstool Sports for Black Friday.
"Black Friday, we have a Bryce Underwood-Barstool collab coming out in the store with him, proceeds going to Bryce Underwood. so be on the lookout for that," Portnoy said on the Barstool College Football Show.
Underwood is also expected to sign a NIL deal worth around $10.5 million with the Michigan Wolverines.
