Five-star Oregon Ducks wide receiver Dakorien Moore shut down his recruitment this week. He's also enjoying a phenomenal senior season with five-star Alabama quarterback commit Keelon Russell at Duncanville High School in Texas.
All recruiting channels place Moore as the No. 1 receiver in the 2025 class, while Russell is also the No. 1 quarterback in the cycle, according to ESPN. It will be interesting to see both pair up in college football as well. Their college paths will diverge, but Moore and Russell haven't entirely ruled out a reunion in the pros.
“What if we get drafted by the Cowboys?,” Moore told The Dallas Morning News. “I’ve been hearing that a lot.”
The duo has led Duncanville to an impressive 11-0 record, aiming for a third consecutive Class 6A Division I state title on Dec. 21. If successful, the program will join an elite group of just 20 schools in UIL history to secure at least three consecutive state championships.
This season, Moore has been virtually unstoppable, recording 52 catches for 1,032 yards and 14 touchdowns, while Russell has passed for more than 3,000 yards. Their connection on the field is mirrored off it as well.
“I introduced Keelon to skating,” Moore added. “I took him and another group of guys on the football team. He was the one who really was able to learn when I was teaching him stuff, how to skate backward and spin. He started having fun with it.”
Besides Russell, Moore also revealed his affinity to join his favorite player and Miami Dolphins wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. in the NFL.
OBJ has a special place in the hearts of New York fans due to his memorable catch against the Cowboys. Moore also hopes to emulate that athleticism.
Dakorien Moore spoke about potentially playing with Bryce Underwood before his Oregon pledge
Dakorien Moore, a highly touted wide receiver, initially committed to LSU with dreams of forming a dynamic duo alongside five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood. However, both players have since made surprising decisions by flipping to other schools.
Moore, now pledged to the Oregon Ducks, spoke about Underwood’s influence on his initial LSU commitment.
“Bryce was on me hard. He wanted to play with me,” Moore told The Dallas Morning News. “He was one of the main reasons I was still looking at LSU. As soon as he made that move, I knew where home was.”
Underwood's flip had been in discussion, as he repeatedly reaffirmed his commitment to LSU, but eventually got swayed away due to a whopping NIL deal. Reports revealed that his deal was bolstered by a $12 million contribution from billionaire Larry Ellison.
“That was insane, but he is the best quarterback in the nation," Moore said. "When you have that No. 1 spot, the school is going to do anything."
Underwood also secured a marketing partnership with Barstool Sports CEO Dave Portnoy and NFL GOAT Tom Brady had several conversations with him as well to pursue him for Michigan.
