Gangnam B-Side finale episodes 7 and 8 were aired on Disney+ on November 27, 2024. The series had a stellar cast including Ji Chang-wook, Jo Woo-jin, BIBI, and Ha Yoon-kyung. Episode 7 opens with Gil-ho (Ji Chang-wook) putting an injured Dong-woo (Jo Woo-jin) inside his car and coming across an old nemesis, K.

The episode ended with Seo-jin (Ha Yoon-kyung) being shocked to see Justice Tak Ju-il setting another unlawful experiment in motion—testing the newest batch of Neon on the chosen girls, including Ye-seo (Dong-woo's daughter).

Episode 8 was a whirlwind of action and politics going hand-in-hand as Dong-woo and Gil-ho set out to expose the drug smuggling racket and save the female escorts. The season finale wrapped up with Seo-jin whistleblowing the entire racket on national television despite knowing that she would face the consequences for it.

Gangnam B-Side season 1 ended with Dong-woo returning back to the police force and trying to bust another drug problem at a bar. He found out that the bar was turned upside down and a box full of drugs was burning in the ire. He rushed through the back door, speculating that it was the work of Gil-ho, and found him limping through the street with his baseball bat.

Gil-ho stopped mid-way and looked back to see Dong-woo. He gave him a wry smile and a slight nod in acknowledgment as Dong-woo's eyes teared him. They both silently bid each other goodbye and Dong-woo got in his car with his colleague and asked them to continue with their investigation, hinting at a possible season renewal.

However, nothing has been confirmed yet by Disney+ whether Gangnam B-Side will be renewed for a season 2.

Gangnam B-Side episodes 7 and 8 close the curtain on the drug racket by bringing the culprits to justice

Gangnam B-Side episode 7 starts with Dong-woo begging Gil-ho to help him find his daughter, Ye-seo. He told Gil-ho that Ye-seo was determined to avenge Jae-hee's (BIBI) death and had entered the escort service. But Gil-ho refused to help him, stating that finally, Dong-woo would realize how it felt to get abandoned as he still blamed him for being unable to save Jae-hee from dying.

Su-in met Ye-seo and persuaded her to return to her father's house. However, since she possessed Jae-hee's footage, she told Su-in that they must act because she needed to bring the culprits to justice and avenge Jae-hee's death.

After a lot of persuasion, Dong-woo convinced Gil-ho to join him in taking down HYENA—the starting point of the drug smuggling operation. Meanwhile, Ye-seo had hidden the video footage in a plushie toy she previously got from Jae-hee, which could expose the masterminds behind the whole drug and escort operation.

Dong-woo learned the location of his daughter from Su-in but was late to reach and save her and all the other escorts. He found Su-in taking her last breaths as K discovered her before trying to hide Ye-seo from him. Su-in gave the toy to Dong-woo and died immediately.

At last, he played the tape that Jae-hee had taken, which showed Choi's inner circle and their escort gathering. The video showed Mayor Woo, Prosecutor Tak, Jae-hee, Jung-hwa, Choi, and a few other significant assemblymen at that venue, experimenting with the new drug, NEON, on an escort.

Gangnam B-Side episode 8 showed K's goons taking Gil-ho to headquarters. But the tranquilizer lost its effect and Gil-ho gained back his consciousness. He beat the goons and escaped while trying to call Dong-woo. Both Gil-ho and Dong-woo stumbled across each other and were shocked to see each other in the same location.

Meanwhile, the inner circle of Choi, Tak Ju-il, along with other assemblymen came together for another meeting. Drug smuggler, K, brought a few female escorts on whom they tried to experiment with the new drug, NEON. However, one of the girls died and K brought in Ye-seo (Dong-woo's daughter) but Seo-jin tried to save her from the experiment by asking everyone to talk about the contract.

Dong-woo and Gil-ho infiltrated the meeting venue to rescue Ye-seo but K's goons attacked them. Gil-ho handled the goons by himself and asked Dong-woo to look for his daughter. Meanwhile, Choi injected the drug in Ye-seo and she had a seizure while Dong-woo tried to save his daughter from dying. Seo-jin seized the opportunity within the ensuing chaos and injected the antidote into Ye-seo's arm.

Later, Ye-seo reconciled with her father, Dong-woo, and they both went to Jae-hee's grave together. Gangnam B-Side season 1 ended with Seo-jin exposing the assemblymen including herself and bringing them to justice. Meanwhile, Dong-woo and Gil-ho crossed paths one last time on the street, giving each other a slight nod, and going their separate ways.

Dong-woo got back to his car and told his junior police officer to gear up for a new investigation as they found new drugs at the bar. This scene hinted at the possibility of Gangnam B-Side season 2, however, nothing has yet been announced by the show director, Park Noo-ri, and Disney+.

Gangnam B-Side is available on Disney+ for global streaming and consists of 8 episodes.
