Love Your Enemy episode 2 recap: Yoon Jiwon and Seok Jiwon enter into a bet after 18 years

Love Your Enemy episode 2 begins with Yoon replaying the events of the previous day when she met Seok Jiwon after 18 years. She pushed and hit him in front of other teachers. Despite being against his father's plans to replace the school with a golf course, he took the offer after his school friends told him that Yoon did not remember him.

An urgent meeting is called by Seok, with the faculty involved in the Creative Experience Club and Careers Club, to discuss the revival of the gifted program. He attends the meeting knowing that Yoon Jiwon leads the Creative Experience Club. It is revealed that a month back Yoon had confessed her feelings for the school nurse, Hong Tae-oh, which had made her awkward around him.

Both Yoon Jiwon (Jung Yu-mi) and Seok Jiwon argue about whether the program needs a revival. Seok asserts his position and orders Yoon to bring him an action plan for the program, declaring her the leader. He also invites her to lunch instead of an apology for Yoon's violent actions the day before.

Yoon Jiwon and her grandfather still live on the school premises. During lunch break, she makes her way home where she ends up back-hugging Seok Jiwon, as she mistook him for her grandfather.

Yoon Jae-ho (Kim Gap-soo) told her that Seok Jiwon has better mannerisms than his father and does not seem arrogant like him. He stays for lunch at their house and tells him that nothing has been decided about the golf course yet. Jae-ho also makes his side clear.

Seok Jiwon's father, Gyeong-tae is in the hospital due to a broken leg. The assistant of the former chairman, now Seok's assistant, Ji Gyung-hun presents a report on Seok Jiwon's activities in the school. He tells Gyung-hun to reprimand Yoon Jiwon for acting rowdily with his son, the chairman of the school. Ignoring Seok Jiwon's wishes, he asks Gyung-hun to organize a grand inauguration event.

Seok follows Yoon back to the schoolyard where he asks her how it felt seeing him after 18 years. She asks him the same, and he replies that he is annoyed as he still resents her. She too, replies in an extremely formal manner, that she felt like crap and would like it if their paths do not cross further. They promise to live as strangers.

They meet up with their high school teacher who is still teaching. He calls Ji-hye, who was also his pupil, as he shares their tales as students. Ji-hye looks visibly agitated with the situation. One of Yoon's homeroom students cries to her as she fears not making it to the gifted class.

Gyung-hun (Lee Seung-joon) meets up with Jae-ho and tells him to give up his plans due to Seok's stubborn nature. After this Jae-ho gets a flashback of the time when he refused to give up his land to Gyeong-tae due to his money-minded nature.

A new character is introduced in this episode of Love Your Enemy, Gong Mun-su, a trainee gym teacher. Yoon Jiwon is given the responsibility of training him. He is a renowned swimmer who seems to know Yoon Jiwon but she has no idea about him.

Sua organises a Creative Experience Club dinner along with the Careers Club where Seok Jiwon also gets invited. However, as the school time ends, Yoon Jiwon is stalled by a parent who displays her anxiety over her daughter not getting accepted into the gifted program. The interaction takes up around 3-4 hours.

All this while, Seok Jiwon waits for Yoon to get free. They both arrive at the restaurant where a question about whether it's okay to date one's colleague puts Yoon in a tight spot. Irritated, Yoon goes out to catch some air, and Hong Tae-oh, the school nurse follows.

Comically, in this episode of Love Your Enemy, Seok finds himself stuck in an empty plant pot after trying to eavesdrop. As he calls Yoon for help, they start bickering again and he annoyingly tells her that she should not have cried over that old man's rejection.

Yoon then says that the school's lilac trees have not bloomed in four years, hence, it is unlikely they will bloom this year. Seok Jiwon tells her that they can bloom this year, which results in a bet. Yoon bets that if they do not bloom, Seok should resign as the chairman while Seok says "Date me, if the lilacs bloom".

This leads to another flashback to the day when the final exam result was announced. After school in a park, Seok had asked Yoon to date him as they had been together since they were born and despite the family rivalry, he wished to keep seeing her. Episode 2 of Love Your Enemy concludes with both Yoon and Seok Jiwon betting about the lilac trees.

Love Your Enemy is one of the most awaited K-dramas of November 2024. Episodes three and four are scheduled to air on Saturday and Sunday, November 30, and December 1, 2024.
